I've got to give a major thank you to Jared, Don, Jerry, Bart, Daniel, Mr. Black, Marissa, John, Rosie & Mike for their help with everything this year.

[edit] Wednesday
I got into Indy early in the morning and met up with Cody who was running Looney Lab event from Kentucky Fried Gamers (KFG), a group that typical runs the Tuesday and Wednesday event at the Ram (a popular bar that is a hangout during GenCon). There were 8 of us there in the crowded backroom area. We played a 2 hour game of Fluxx and had a chance to promote the rest of the events during GenCon. This year we had a list of the events printed as a handout. I thanked Cody for running Looney Lab games and went to the HQ to get the badges for the rest of the GMs. There was a short breather as I had a chance to get the hotel room set up for the meet-up. We held the Lab Rabbit meet up and realized that we didn't have enough cards to run "AYAW?" So, we decided to run with what we had. Union Square hosted the Wednesday Night "AYAW?"

[edit] Thursday
For the most part, our first full day went well. We put on our lab coats and walked through the con. Quite a few asked me and a couple of the GMs when Andy was coming. We told them he would be coming on Friday. The energy we had during our events was great. For next year, it might be a good idea to bring some tye-dyed sheets or something that would have shown we were there. The major issues were:
1.) Our ribbon was listed as a Thursday 8 AM event instead of an all-con event like it should have been. Marissa had to deal with a very angry individual. I talked to the HQ to make sure it was fine. It was. Also, I had an AT&T and a Sprint phone. Neither one rang when both HQ tried to call me while I was in the exhibitor's hall. Take that for what it's worth.
2.) The location for AYAW? was resolved this year, however we were not given chairs because I failed to request the extra chairs when filling out the event form. This issue was repeated Friday.

Fluxx Happy Hour (1 PM): 14, AYAT?: 12, Fluxx (6 PM): 16, Treehouse Happy Hour: 0, AYAW?: 71
[edit] Friday
Biggest highlight; Andy & Alison showed up. I ran into them as I was heading to watch Wil Wheaton give the "Gen Con Keynote." It was awesome. After that, we managed to get Alison her badge while Andy got set up in the hotel. The early sessions (before 5 PM) had a low turnout, but are table were packed after 6 PM. The Fluxx Happy Hour was a success. Plus, there was massive carryover from Andy vs. Everybody to Treehouse and Muffins. It was agreed, Muffins was the event of GenCon. Massive turnout for AYAW? despite the lack of chairs.

Treehouse Happy Hour: 5, RAMBots: 5, WW5: 5, Nanofictionary: 0, Fluxx Happy Hour: 26, Andy vs. Everybody: 22, Treehouse Happy Hour: 8, Muffins: 10, AYAW?: 111
[edit] Saturday
After a nice discussion with GM HQ, it was decided that 90 chairs would be brought to the area where Werewolf was going to the played. I thanked Derek and that problem was solved.
Andy decided after the success of Andy vs. Everybody & Muffins on Friday that he wanted to do it again. So, we arranged for it to be run again. For an unadvertised event, the attendance was amazing.
Finally, Sir Jon from Game Base 7 asked if we wanted Game Base 7 to coordinate our events for GenCon 2011.

Volcano: 9, Pyramids Happy Hour: 2, Fluxx Happy Hour: 26, Andy vs. Everybody 20, Muffins: 20, Treehouse Happy Hour: 5, AYAW?: 150
[edit] Sunday
It was a huge day of rest. Woke up early to pack up. Got a change to play most of the Mayfair Games that I didn't have a chance to play during the con. We had a chance to discuss the convention during the Wrap-Up session at noon. It turned into a good discussion about the issues we faced during the con and also the good things that occurred during GenCon. The proposal by Game Base 7 was discussed and was decided to giving it support and send it up to Robin. Then, it was time to go back into the exhibit hall one last time. I got to demo a few more games. After the demos, I left Indy to head back home.

Lab Rabbit Meet-Up: 20, AYAW? Ribbons: 83, Tiki Lounge Ribbons: 18
[edit] Break Down
This was our biggest GenCon ever in terms of events run. Here are the bulletpoints of the items for next year:
- If we do an All-Con ribbons, we need to make sure it is listed as an All-Con event
- When we schedule AYAW? in the special request section we need to put down "90 chairs in several stacks in the area of the game"
