[edit] General
Editing help can be found at:
User Guide for Editors
(this is a link to the Editing Handbook at WikiMedia)
Don't forget to put a note in the Summary box - this gives others an idea of what your changes are about.
Before you save a page, it is a good idea to click on the Show preview button to make sure things look correct.
[edit] Minor edits
A minor edit is something that does not change the content of the page significantly. Some examples include (but are not limited to):
- Correcting a couple misspellings
- Formatting changes
- Headers
- Bulleted or numbered lists
- Fixing internal links
If an edit is considered minor, select the "This is a minor edit" checkbox. This lets people viewing the history know that your edit didn't change much of the actual content of the page.
[edit] Templates and Style Guides
- Template:talkguidelines - Place {{talkguidelines}} at the top of each talk page to point users towards the talk page guidelines.
- Template:talkarchive - Place {{talkarchive}} at the top of a talk archive page to indicate that it is an archive and that new discussions should take place on the current talk page.
