[edit] Binary Homeworlds Tournament Rules

1.) Games for this tournament will be played in accordance with the rules for Binary Homeworlds as published in 3HOUSE, amended as follows:

  • The Second Player Builds First rule (described in 3HOUSE) has been eliminated. The player who builds first also moves first.

2.) Games will be run using chess clocks. Alloted time for each game will be announced at the start of the event.

3.) The structure varies with the number of players, as follows:

  • 2 Players: If there are only 2 players in the tourney, they will play 3 games - winner of 2 of the 3 wins the tourney.
  • 3-5 Players: All players will play a round robin tournament. After all players have played each other, the person with the most wins is declared the winner. If a tie exists, those players will play a final, sudden death game to determine the winner.
  • 6 or more players: Players will face off in randomly determined pairings. Depending on time and number of players, it may or may not be a double elimination ladder.

4.) Begin by flipping a coin. The player who wins the coin toss goes first.
