[edit] How to answer these questions.

I am computer illiterate, so these directions are VERY step by step. Feel free to move faster than me.--Franny 17:57, 4 February 2008 (PST)

  • Step 1 - Click on Edit next to a blank set of questions.
  • Step 2 - Highlight "Name" and replace with yours! If you feel really fancy, you can use the button right above that looks like a signature (hint: it puts in your signature. Make sure there are still two equal signs in front of and behind your name.
  • Step 3 - Simply type your responses after the questions.
  • Step 4 -Hit the preview button on the bottom of the page.
  • Step 5 - Save your page.
  • You can go back and edit it later as well. Simply click on the edit button next to your info.

[edit] Some thoughts on volunteers.....

It's reasonable to give priority to

1. people who volunteer early (suggests commitment)

2. people who've run the event in the past (commitment and expertise)

3. people who've done more tournament running in the past (again, commitment and expertise)

  • What games do you love to teach (spotlights/demos)?

ZENDO! Volcano, IceTowers, Black Ice. Giant or regular.

  • What type of events (tourney/demo) do you prefer?

I could do a large volume of demos. I could demo Zendo and Volcano (and to a lesser extent, IceHouse) 16 hours a day (with reasonable meal and potty breaks).

But there are some tourneys that must occur. I'm happy to step up to run those.

  • Are interested in being a Top Rabbit or Tournament Director?

I could be TD without any problem. I have less inclination to be the TR, but I do (I like to think) have the ability to be

  • Are you interested in working in the booth?

  • What can you run if we really need the help?

Just about any event that doesn't require me between 2am and 9am.

  • What days/hours will probably work well for you?

I'm showing up latish on Wednesday and leaving after the lab is clean on Sunday. Again, nothing _scheduled_ between 2 and9 am.

  • Based on the preliminary schedule, are there any events or "Rabbit Needed" spots you would like to request?

-I'll take the second [Rabbit Needed] for the Zendo tournament. Friday, 2pm -Sure, I'll do IceTowers (Saturday 8pm) and Martian Chess (Thursday 10am) tournaments, since I seem to have taken ownershhip of them over the last X years. If someone else really wants to run one or both of these, swell. -I think it would be interesting to run the Black Ice tournament (Friday 6pm). I'd be happy to if nobody wants to.

  • How many hours would you like to run?

I could be in the 12-16 hour range for anything that requires preparation.

[edit] Johnpaul (JP) Adams

*Convention Experience: Attended Origins 2004-2006, OhioCon 2007; Volunteer for Big Experiment 2007

*What games do you love to run (tourneys)?: Fluxx (any variety), Chrononauts, AYAW?,

*What games do you love to teach (spotlights/demos)? Any Icehouse system game (minus Homeworlds and Black ICE), Fluxx (any variety), Chrononauts, Aquarius, Nanofictionary (will need to learn new rules),

*What type of events (tourney/demo) do you prefer? I am excellent at demoing (yay Education major!), but truly love to work and participate in tournaments.

*Are interested in being a Top Rabbit or Tournament Director? I don't think with one year of Con volunteering that it would be a good idea for me to TD or TR.

*Are you interested in working in the booth? Yes, but I prefer running tourneys and working in the Lab. Running the booth would only be on an as-needed basis.

*What can you run if we really need the help? Pretty much anything on the days I have listed that I am available. I know many of the Looney games (minus Homeworlds, Black ICE, and a few others) so running tourneys spur of the moment or demoing at the drop of a hat is something I'm very used to and good at doing.

*What days/hours will probably work well for you? Wed-Fri: All day (Except for the time of the Zendo tourney and one Fluxx prelim); Saturday: Availability is limited and probably will not be in Lab (may be available after 8 pm); Sunday: All day

*Based on the preliminary schedule, are there any events or "Rabbit Needed" spots you would like to request? I would be able to do WW all nights except Friday night (could be there until midnight, not much later). Also, all the Zombie Fluxx tourneys (minus the one prelim on saturday and possibly the Final) look as though they fit my current schedule. *How many hours would you like to run? Approx. 8-10, plus Werewolf. I am always open to working more as the need arises. :-)

  • 16-hour Rabit at Origins '07
  • What games do you love to run (tourneys)? Zombie Flux, Flux, don't know much more than Flux
  • What games do you love to teach (spotlights/demos)? Flux in all it's types, prefer Zombie Flux.
  • What type of events (tourney/demo) do you prefer? Catching a pattern here? :)
  • Are interested in being a Top Rabbit or Tournament Director? Um.. Don't think so. Not my cup of tea.
  • Are you interested in working in the booth? No.
  • What can you run if we really need the help? Yeah, um. Flux.
  • What days/hours will probably work well for you? I only participate in night events.
  • Based on the preliminary schedule, are there any events or "Rabbit Needed" spots you would like to request? Flux stuff.
  • How many hours would you like to run? 16 for badge.

[edit] Jeff Wolfe

  • Convention Experience

Origins since '05, various SF and gaming cons since about '87. I Rabbited last year at Marcon and Origins.

  • What games do you love to run (tourneys)?

Not really into running tourneys.

  • What games do you love to teach (spotlights/demos)?

Zendo, Fluxx, Treehouse, Volcano, perhaps some others.

  • What type of events (tourney/demo) do you prefer?

I would much rather demo.

  • Are interested in being a Top Rabbit or Tournament Director?

I would consider doing it in an emergency.

  • Are you interested in working in the booth?

Yes.

  • What can you run if we really need the help?

See my talk page. If you've printed out this page or otherwise can't get to my talk page, the alternate answer is pretty much all the in-print card games and about 8 or 10 major pyramid games.

  • What days/hours will probably work well for you?

Well, I'm going to be a panelist on a scheduled Origins seminar, and I don't know when it is yet. And I'd prefer to see the Board Room schedule, too, if they get it together sometime soon. I don't really expect the Board Room to affect my schedule unless they plan to have Zendo again. Other than that, I'm good any time after about 2pm (maybe 1pm). I should be there every day.

  • Based on the preliminary schedule, are there any events or "Rabbit Needed" spots you would like to request?

Not at this time.

  • How many hours would you like to run?

Two or three hours in the booth (no more than an hour at a time if I have to stand), maybe three or four hours in the lab, plus wearing a lab coat most of the rest of my time in the lab.
