[edit] Starting with Booth!
- Sam-
- The booth was gorgeous this year
- Cheers were given to Alison who made said booth
- The booth was gorgeous this year
- scott
- Larger booth was a good thing.
- 10x30 good size much happiness
- Cost outweighs profit?
- Jean
- More chairs, or higher chairs for cocktail tables so children can play
- Perhaps a footstool?
- More chairs, or higher chairs for cocktail tables so children can play
- Dayle
- Nice to have specific jobs
- Keep it clearly defined.
- Keep it extremely organized
- Nice to have specific jobs
- Were shifts good?
- We try to keep 3 people in the booth
- Had good flow
- Felt like attendance was down, so there were more lulls
- Dayle
- Was good to have Robin and Alison to help promote
- Good to have temps
- Must have 3 temps. For breaks
- Jean
- Could the volunteers man registers?
- Kristen
- Could we shut a register down for a bit
- Robin
- Too unpredictable.
- Came in spurts
- Kat
- Good that we had two registers
- FOR THE WIN!
- More props to Alison
- Do we want more rabbits for cocktail tables
- Depends on what is being promoted for next year
- Sam
- Forth role
- Coordinating the lurkers
- Done by Robin, Alison
- Forth role
- Robin
- Way too many people when there is a lull?
- Don't to overwhelm the customers
- If you aren't on duty, be aware of how long you stop in lab coat; again don't want to make it look like we have a zillion rabbits.
- Make aware that there are no flash mobs…
- Come back later or take off lab coat
- Do not challenge booth workers to floating tourney rounds
- Dayle
- Are the demos the right length of time?
- Robin- not really a problem. Only have been a couple times
- Timer may be needed next
- Are the demos the right length of time?
- SHIN HAS RETURNED! (THANK YOU RYAN FOR HELPING)
- Kat- were there enough people to guard
- Response, sounds good
- People like seeing Andy at the booth.
- Dayle made a joke about people not recognizing him
- It was good to have a place to be able to meet him
- Andy had more autographs this year
- Can we also have a booth appearance on Sunday?
- Shouldn't be a huge problem, as long as homeworlds is able to be saved
[edit] BOOTH BUGOUT
- Thanks to Annie for many multiple trips.
- 18 charisma is a great power!
- Robin
- Much more organized
- Planning works
- Went very well aside from unforeseen complications
- People couldn't stand around well
- Almost got in the way
- Jean
- Do we have to do the carpet at the beginning?
- We were working with the minimum and it worked out
- It interfered with the packing a bit
- Do we have to do the carpet at the beginning?
- Anything we liked
- Loved the roleplaying aspect
- Can we have character sheets
[edit] Day pass????
- What does it cover?
- Is it just dealer room?
- Robin
- She tried to put it in emails
- They can come in for a demo or two, but if they want to play in a tourney or more than a demo or two, they need to have a badge
- No generics from day pass people
- Use the momentum to get them a badge.
- Someone said they had a day pass and were shooed out of the lab
- Kristen- "doesn't hurt GAMA to let them have a little fun"
- Should we put the GAMA rules up?
- No because we don't really follow them
- Also makes the top just start listing things
- Mainly just a few demos and hopefully the next time they'll come 'for real'
- Taking people places is also a way to gain camaraderie
[edit] PREP
- Big thanks to Robin for all the emails and packets and keeping it listed as to who it was for
- Personal schedules were for the win
- Next year we are going to consolidate the stuff that we have
- PLEASE HELP WITH THE RABBIT WIKI
- Use the stuff we are doing and update it so we already know how to run such as thing
- Also make sure we post to the list that the wiki has been update
- Can an email with the wiki link be sent to the origins list because people can't always find it?
- Make it an intro to the page
- Not very accurate this year.
- Can someone send a message that tells us how to edit wiki
- Make a wiki page that does just that
- Just click the edit thing
- Marissa wants a cone for her head
[edit] TOURNEMENTS
- Multiple complaints about people that are running tournament playing in them
- We also have people winning the tournament that they are playing
- Person had be kicked out and then the game master had to play
- Grab someone else for lab?
- Fewer rabbits
- Some tournaments are more conducive to play and run
- Icehouse for example
- but because it has an impartial judge
- we need to define which?
- It is hard to make exceptions
- Even playing even if one can't win, one can still influence the results
- Plus what happens if they do win
- Which games were causing the problems
- Chrononauts tournaments?
- Table played slower because she was playing
- And she also didn't see when people had questions
- Problem is that people who run tourneys are people who like to play in the game and want to play in the game
- Perhaps people who are not as big fan run it so the people who love it play it
- But then they don't know the rules as well
- The appearance of the conflict of interest
- As we keep getting bigger and newer players the perspective will change
- Some could be sour grapes but still be valid point
- Especially for the more popular games, don't play in the game
- For the smaller games, ask the players?
- We need to make a policy. Exceptions are not cool?
- Would it be okay for the organizer to play if there was a referee?
- Also should we really have the tourney if it is poorly attended?
- Signing up ahead of time?
- You don't know ahead of time if you are going to be in the building
[edit] ANOTHER GOOD REASON FOR THE WIKI
- Best wiki medallion for next year?
- Highly possible
- Are there tournaments that we had that we didn't want?
- Family flux
- Binary homeworlds
- Will be dealt with by the BESC
- Length of Zendo tourney?
- Speed zendo for first round
- Would change flavor of game enough that it would be counterproductive
- Having a separate prelims and finals
- Fudge it around the blackout (which is why we didn't do that this year)
- Like the IIT
- Blackout definition (nothing can start between 4 and 6)
- Speed zendo for first round
- Question about floating tourneys
- How to find people
- Have multiple meet ups
- Do it as a free seminar
- They work really well to have them
- We could work with gama because they already have a ribbon
- Also people have more people sign up
- Make sure more people are invited when they first come in?
- Can we do informal meet ups
- Or could we have a floating tournament meet up table?
- Lots of support for that
- In the lounge perhaps
- If you play people or demo to them then ask them if they want to join
- Someone to make a pegboard with pictures
- Denied
- Floating tournaments work
- Should we have more?
- Treehouse works great with it!
- Volcano can take too long sometimes to grab a person
- Can we have a leader board
- If we have the laptop, it would be easy
- Would it affect how people play?
- Perhaps have a sign for ask me how I'm currently ranked?
- Moment of silence for Nathan's awesome spreadsheet program
- We were able to run the program later
- Having a monitor for misc stuff
- Put ads as well
- (andy loves diet mountain dew)
- Tourney ranks
- Would it ruin the atmosphere?
- How to find people
[edit] LOONEY LOUNGE
- Seems to have more use more this year
- People think that it is a rabbit area because of the partition
- Seems like a walled off space for special space
- Have the demo rabbits show them
- TRs are supposed to be telling them but have too much too say
- Perhaps have demos there?
- Less comfortable for some people.
- More rabbits there because they are informal and that is just how we are
- Someone asked for a wet bar, but probably not
- Perhaps have at least one higher table for those who don't like chairs
- Perhaps have it in another area so it can be more separate from rabbit kitchen
- Is there really a problem to be solved?
[edit] Discussion about be moved
- Lower space downstairs that is more open
- Will we still be able to have kitchen?
- Less secure because GAMA staff can get in and out the back
- Things have gone missing in the past from the boffers
- All moves will see pros and cons
- Werewolf would still not work down there
- Security is very important because auction computers were stolen this year
- Plus purses were stolen this year from outside events
[edit] KITCHEN
- Greykell and shin will be trading notes
- Big things
- Larger trash cans and recycling bins
- Messiness seemed worse this year
- Fruit flies are NOT our friends
- North market fruit not as good
- Let's simplify rule needs to be played
- Most people don't use all the stuff that is there.
- Perhaps don't need all the varieties of foods
- Keep the yummies in rein
- Perhaps still some variety
- People nervous about opening stuff
- Stuff needs to be more visible?
- People need to be informed that the food in the kitchen is for everyone (same for drinks)
- It is only for rabbits. We could lose kitchen privileges from the convention center, but we are on the line.
- Perhaps make a sign that says that the food here is for rabbits
- Greykell and Shin are both planning to do stuff again next year
- Make sure that people tell group what is being brought
- ALL FOOD MUST HAVE LIDS
- Keep our rabbit area clean
- We all need to make sure we aren't leaving half eaten food in the rabbit area.
- Again trash cans would help
[edit] DEMO FLIP BOOKS AND CONES
- We like the cones
- We need to remember to remove orange cone when it is no longer possible to join
- One of the main demo rabbits disagrees that they were less useful
- That people would play with them instead of the real use
- TD and TR have too many things that need to be communicated
- People would leave lab before walking in because of backlogs
- Processing issue
- Perhaps have top by door and td on other side of hutch?
- Do we give them out to each person who comes in to the lab?
- Depends on the TD seems to be the answer
- Put it in the lab report
- Scrolling screen with words
- More demo flip charts
- Need to have all the games (or a better system of games)
- Scheduled demos and open demos
- Perhaps just have scheduled demos for the new/promoted games
- Perhaps just have fewer
- Keep to open demos?
- Give GAMA ticketed events
- More open demos during blackout
- Get the people started then get available again
- Show them rules then get another
- Organized play instead of demo (with rules are taught)
- Is it the same thing as a meet up
- Meet up makes it seem more like a meet and greet instead of a dedicated play time
- Use wording of Happy Hour instead of either
- Envelopes are harder to manage envelope for open demo
- Have a scheduled demo day instead
- Have events in schedule for all days?
- Open demo envelope was for open gaming tokens
- Label it suchly
- Do we ticket the free flow people who join in later?
- How do we handle it?
- Not fair to the ones who paid at first?
- This morning with the your favorite game (3 hour slot, getting 15 minutes of game)
- That was actually a scheduling gaffe
- Do we want to put actual scheduled demos in the book?
- Make sure rabbits know they have to stay for the full demo slot
- Better structure this year?
- If people show up for scheduled demo, can they use the balance in the lab?
- Make sure they know they can
- Again with the hitting the floaters
- Have a icehouse/treehouse pyramid demo slot that shows multiple games?
- Have someone write it up and volunteer to run it.
- Needs to be well versed in games
[edit] Children not being supervised
- Need to make sure rule is enforced.
- Needs to be a point
- Any kid that is not a teenager should have a parent or adult with them.
- If not, they need to be taken to the info center by GAMA volunteer
- Actual con center rule
[edit] TDs
- We need to make sure that all of the tds are recording all of the information and that they are all passing stuff on.
- Again give both roles their own books
- Have a TR/TD meet up at the beginning sometime?
[edit] Andy has points
- Free cards?
- Free hat?
- Shane wins it for GenCon!
