We are getting in touch with all our registered Rabbits to tell everyone about big changes in the Rabbit program - and we are working hard at getting our database updated in the process!

The Big News:

  • We are suspending the Rabbit Point reward system portion of our Rabbit program.
  • Monday July 2nd 2007 is the last day you can submit requests for Rabbit Points.
  • You can spend the points you've got, but you need to spend them by September 1st 2007.
  • Rabbits who are working The Big Experiment at Origins this year will get points for the show.
  • We are lifting the restriction that used to say you couldn't get our mainline products with your rabbit points.
  • ... we have a new wiki for our Rabbits, and will be designing a new reward system - but we need to suspend the current Rabbit Point reward system first...

We ARE still using the existing Rabbit Roster - so existing Rabbits do not need to make a new account. We are asking everyone to log in, to check their contact info (both mailing address and email address) and review and update their bio and Picture. We are also asking those who don't have a bio and picture set for their account to either update their profile with a bio and picture, or drop down to a Basic Fan Club membership.

Looney Labs Fan Club - Two Membership Options
Level One Basic Membership Registered fans, who receive our postcard and occasional Holiday Gift mailings, e-newsletters with special offers, and notification of major events - but are not listed on the online roster of fans.
Level Two Mad Lab Rabbits Fans with online profiles on the Rabbit Roster, who jabber enthusiastically about Looney Labs Games whenever the subject comes up. Looney Labs is not currently running a point system to reward Rabbits for doing demos at game stores and conventions, so everything is on a volunteer basis.

Why are we making these changes?

  • It's a radical move, but turning off the Rabbit Point system system gives us many really good things. Most importantly, it will let us finish moving into our new software system, without *first* figuring out how to translate our fan reward program into the new software. Certain things about our current structure don't translate and scale very well, and our current software is painful to maintain/operate. As a company, Looney Labs needs to stop spending so many of our very limited resources managing a disorganized program with lousy tools. We have AWESOME fans, but the program needs work. We will be designing a new fan reward program, and our rabbits will be helping us design it! First step in this process, is to turn the old system off.
  • We need your help building this wiki! We as a company do not have the bandwidth to keep up with all of what being a Rabbit is about, as we are now even more short handed than ever. (Be sure you read Andy's article about Carol not being our Rabbit Coordinator any more after Origins.) The title of Rabbit Coordinator is no longer one of a paid employee... any and all of our wonderful Rabbits can now post anything they want about all sorts of things here on this wiki. Poke around the wiki, we've gotten a few things started - please help the Rabbit community continue to grow and prosper! The Rabbit Admins will be digging in on getting a discussion forum up and running soon...
  • We have been doing a whole lot of analysis and soul searching, check out the recent Fluxx Survey Results, and Andy's report on changing our weekly webzine to update only bi-weekly. Change is good - please hang tight and stick with us while we re-organize our little game company.
