So the only way to embed/display a picture inside the page is to have it uploaded to the wiki server, correct? I cannot display a file that lives on another server. Just looking for confirmation on that so I don't keep trying for nothing. :-). Thanks. --Timmay! 06:32, 30 June 2007 (PDT)

  • The default in MediaWiki is to have external images disabled. I can enable them if you like, but they're not as convenient as images uploaded to the wiki (they can't be used with the convenient thumbnailing support, if the external server goes down then they don't work, etc).
